Noteology (“the App”) is a music education app that helps users learn to identify and play musical notes. We are committed to protecting your privacy and complying with applicable data protection laws, including the Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA).

a. Non-Personal Information
We may automatically collect limited non-personal data, such as:
- Device model and operating system
- Usage patterns
- Crash reports (via Firebase Crashlytics)
This helps us improve performance and fix bugs.
b. Microphone Access
Noteology uses your device’s microphone only to detect musical pitch in real time.

c. User Communications (Including Children)
If a user — including a child under 13 — contacts us via email for support, we may receive:
- The sender’s email address
- The contents of their message
We only use this information to respond to their inquiry and do not share it with third parties or use it for marketing.
3. Permissions Used
- Microphone: To detect played notes on the piano.
- Network access: For sending crash reports and enabling support.
4. Third-Party Services
We use:
- Firebase Crashlytics for crash diagnostics.

5. Children’s Privacy
Noteology is designed for general audiences, including children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children unless they choose to contact us.

We do not store any personal data except email messages voluntarily sent to us. These may be retained for a reasonable time to provide support, then securely deleted.

- Withdraw microphone permission in device settings.
- Delete the app to stop all data collection.
- Contact us to request deletion of support communications.
